At 269,714 acres, Big Bend Ranch State Park is the largest state park in Texas. Big Bend Ranch is located on the Rio Grande River near Big Bend National Park. The closest town to Big Bend Ranch is Presidio, Texas. Big Bend Ranch is part of the Chihuahuan Desert. In this park you can expect to see beautiful mountains, waterfalls, abundant plant and animal life. Big Bend is also home to a herd of longhorn cattle. You can even take part in the semi-annual longhorn roundup. Right next to Big Bend Ranch State Park is Big Bend National Park . Although the two parks are adjacent, they offer a completely different experience. If you have time after one you should consider seeing the other.
