Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is located about 15 miles north of
Fredericksburg, Texas and about 15 miles south of Llano, Texas. Enchnted Rock
is also on the National listing of
Natural Landmark.
This park park covers over 1600 acres and includes Enchanted Rock. Enchanted Rock
is a large granite uplifting that covers about 640 acres and rises about
425 feet above the area around it. This park also has several smaller
upliftings, (Freshman Mountain and Turkey Peak), and a small lake. The
facilities of this park include, rest rooms, showers, camp sites,
hiking trails
, picnic areas, playground, pavilion, and a state park store.
