Longhorn Cavern State Park

Longhorn Cavern State Park is a 645 acre park near Burnet Texas. Longhorn Cavern is also on the National list of Naturl Landmark. This Cavern has a rich history dating back to prehistoric times when it was used as a shelter. The cavern was also used during the civil war for an ammo hold. This park offers guided tours that last around 1 hour and 25 minutes. The tour includes a 1.25 mile round trip through the cave. Geology lectures are also available for school field trips to accompany the tour. The facilities of this park include hiking trails, picnic areas, rest rooms, a park store, a café, and a observation tower where you can get a great view of the park.
