This aquarium contains six main exhibits; the Wilds of Borneo, Orinoco Secrets of the Rainforest, the Aquarium, the South African Exhibit, the Madagascar Exhibit, and the Mundo Maya Exhibit. There is a natural flow from one exhibit to the next in this aquarium but visitors can experience each exhibit in the order that pleases them for as long and as many times as they like. Among the exhibits, guests will experience mammals, reptiles, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and a huge variety of water animals from oceans, seas, lakes, and rivers from all over the world. Some of the more exotic animals are from Japan, Australia, Fiji, and Peru. This aquarium exhibits animals from countries in five different continents. Another great attraction in the aquarium is the 40-foot waterfall that falls from the upper section to the lower section of the Orinoco Secrets of the Rainforest Exhibit. The Dallas World Aquarium also has three restaurants and two gift shops. The restaurants in the aquarium are the Cafe Maya on the third floor, the Eighteen-O-One on the first floor, and the Jungle Cafe.

Wilds of Borneo Exhibit:

In the Wilds of Borneo Exhibit guests will follow a ramp into the rainforest. This exhibit sets the mood for the rest of the Dallas World Aquarium experience. This exhibit circles around the tops of the trees of the rain forest that you will soon exhibit. You can get a bird's eye view of many of the animals from other exhibits from here.

Orinoco Secrets of the Rainforest Exhibit:

This Dallas World Aquarium exhibit has two sections; the upper section and the lower section. The upper section consists of many species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. The mammals in this section include monkeys, bats, and sloths. This section is set up with trees, vegetation and much more to add to the rainforest atmosphere. Visitors in this section will all see a 40-foot waterfall that falls into the lower section of the Orinoco rainforest exhibit. The lower section contains a huge variety of creatures inside and outside the pond at the bottom of the waterfall including bats, amphibians, reptiles, invertebrates and fish. A favorite for many visitors in the lower section is the manatees.

The Aquarium Exhibit:

The Aquarium exhibit has a 22,000 gallon water tank with a glass tunnel that visitors can walk through to see the fish, sharks, sting rays, and many more sea creatures. This exhibit is interesting because from the tunnel you can see the beauty of the ocean all around you. It almost feels like you are in the ocean with the fish.

Mundo Maya Exhibit:

This Dallas World Aquarium exhibit was added in 2004. The completion of the Mundo Maya Exhibit nearly doubled the size of the Aquarium. This section features three floors of exhibits including mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles. Some of the more exotic species in this exhibit include jaguars, blind cavefish, sawfish, and much more. This section features many animals but presents them with a taste of Mayan culture. This educational exhibit teaches guests how the Mayans used the plants, wildlife, and their environment in their everyday life to survive. During certain times visitors may enjoy a Mayan themed performance in this section. Contact the aquarium for performance schedules.

South African Exhibit:

This small outdoor exhibit features several animals, the most exciting of which is the black footed penguins. The penguin exhibit is often a favorite for the kids due to their remote natural habitat giving them very few opportunities to see them. This section also has a Madagascar exhibit but it is only opened seasonally. The South African and Madagascar exhibits are the only outdoor exhibits at Dallas World Aquarium.
