Allow Popups And Click To Enlarge Moody Gardens, located across the street from Schlitterbahn Water Park on Hope Boulevard in Galveston, Texas has everything for your trip to Galveston including lodging at the Moody Gardens Hotel, great dining, and fun and educational entertainment. Moody Gardens main attractions consist of the three large glass pyramids. The Aquarium pyramid houses one of the largest and best aquariums in the country. The Rain Forest Pyramid is a 10 story sanctuary for exotic animals, and the Discovery pyramid is an educational museum. You can also enjoy a Galveston boat tour onboard the Colonel Paddlewheel. The Colonel Paddle launches at Moody Gardens and gives a one hour narrated cruise. In the summer months, Moody Gardens Palm Beach Water park is a great place to let the kids cool off.

Aquarium Pyramid:

Caribbean Exhibit:

The Caribbean Exhibit is the largest exhibit in the aquarium. It is home to sharks, sea turtles, and many tropical fish that you can watch swim by you and above you as you walk through an underwater tunnel. This exhibit holds one million gallons of water. This exhibit also has informational signs that tell what you are seeing and is a learning experience for both adults and children.

South Atlantic Exhibit:

Allow Popups And Click To Enlarge The South Atlantic Exhibit has king penguins, chinstrap penguins, rock hopper penguins, gentoo and macaroni penguins. You can watch them play in an area that was built to be like their natural habitat. You can also learn how they communicate with each other. This exhibit can be viewed from above the water or from below the water so that you can watch them on land or swimming in the water. This exhibit also has other south Atlantic sea life and informational signs to tell you what you are seeing.

In the North pacific Exhibit you can see harbor seals, fur seals, and sea lions and they play and have fun in the water. You can also watch the seals do tricks during their feeding time. The feeding time lasts about 15 minutes and the seals and trainers put on quite a show. It is amazing to see how intelligent the seals can be.

South Pacific Exhibit:

Allow Popups And Click To Enlarge In the South Pacific Exhibit you can see the sights of the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea with sea anemones and sea urchins. The South Pacific Exhibit also has a section in which you can actually touch a star fish or a rock lobster. You can also see over 200 kinds of fish, sting rays, and small sharks. You will find this exhibit to be very relaxing, and educational.

Rainforest Pyramid:

The Rainforest Pyramid contains exhibits with over 1,000 species of exotic plants from the rainforests of Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Throughout these exhibits you will see animals such as parrots, monkeys, porcupines, wild cats and much more.

The Asian Rainforest is second in size to the American Rainforest. You can see ferns and orchids and huge colonies of bird nests. You'll also find many species of pitcher plants in the Asian Exhibit.

African Rainforest:

In the African Rainforest exhibit you will see large ficus, mahogany, and ebony trees. You'll also see orchids and African violets. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rain forest and see Madagascar's rosy periwinkle which is used as a medicine for childhood leukemia.

American Rainforest:

The American Rainforest exhibit stretches from Southern Mexico through Central America and the Caribbean Islands and on into South America. You can learn about 25,000 types of plants that live in this region and view the wonderful habitats that these plants live in.

Discovery Pyramid:

Galveston Moody Gardens Discovery pyramid exhibits are designed to be a fun and educational experience. This museum is intended to be a kid science museum but there are always new things for an adult to learn also. The Moody Gardens Discovery Museum exhibits include traveling exhibits from around the world. The Moody Gardens Discovery Pyramid also offers computers with interactive educational exhibits for the kids.

Moody Gardens Attractions:

4-D Theatre:

The 4-D special effects theatre has digital 3-D projection audio and show control systems. You can enjoy the 4-D adventure and listen to the ocean waves crash into the shore line. You can feel the water from the mist of the theatre as you explore the coast.

3-D IMAX:

Colonel Paddlewheel The Moody Gardens IMAX features a 72 feet wide, 53 feet high screen. This IMAX features 3-D films that will make you part of the action. Moody Gardens shows include Dolphins and Whales, Dinosaurs Alive, Wild Ocean, Sharks, Fly Me To The Moon and sever other great films.

Moody Gardens Golf Course:

This newly renovated multi-million dollar sea side Moody Gardens Golf Course provides a great view of Galveston island and first class golf experience.

Ride Film:

In Moody Gardens Ridefilm you will be strapped in your seat and experience a 180 degree wrap around screen. During the film your seat moves with the action.

Palm Beach Water Park:

In the summer months, Moody Gardens Palm Beach Water park is a great place to let the kids cool off. While the kids enjoy the water, the adults can play a game of volleyball or just relax in the sun.

Colonel Paddlewheel The Colonel Paddlewheel:

Moody Gardens Colonel Paddlewheel offers a boat tour of Galveston. This hour long narrated boat tour launches from Moody Gardens and takes you on a scenic cruise.
